One out of every four adults in the United States lives with a disability.
The needs of these individuals are varied, as is the inventory of medical equipment provided by Devices 4 the Disabled (D4D). We know that no two needs are the same, and we offer a variety of devices to help meet as many needs as possible.
D4D accepts crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and patient lifts. We also accept rehab chairs, power wheelchairs, scooters, and hospital beds.
D4D operates in the Chicago metropolitan area.
That being said, there are certain medical materials and equipment that we cannot accept. We do not accept items such as oxygen equipment, syringes, or bandages. We also do not take large items such as van lifts, porch lifts, and stair lifts for inside a home.
We also routinely have the following pieces of equipment available:
Hydraulic mechanical transfer lift
Power mechanical transfer lift
Sling for transfer lift
Standard manual wheelchair
Recliner manual wheelchair
Complex lightweight wheelchair
Power wheelchair without tilt or recline
Raised toilet seat
Raised toilet seat with arms
Commode over toilet
Non-adjustable shower chair
Tilt and recline shower chair
Bath bench
Commode shower chair
Hospital bed
Standard mattress for hospital bed
Gel mattress for hospital bed
DID YOU KNOW?
A head rest pad needs to be used on a wheelchair when it is tilted back or reclined to provide head support. Often times, the headrest pad needs to be replaced on donor wheelchairs. The cost of that pad is $250.
