A special Christmas present brings new hope to Joyce in Waukegan, Illinois. Her life took a positive turn when the Waukegan Police Department’s Community Outreach Group stepped in, going above and beyond to ensure her well-being. One important call was made to Devices 4 the Disabled, which provided Joyce with the transformative gift of mobility, enabling her to accomplish what she needs to do with greater independence. Chicago Catholic newspaper – We give people their life back

Ten years ago, St. Mary of the Woods parishioners Bob Shea and the late Ed Kane were just getting Devices 4 the Disabled off the ground, picking up mobility devices like wheelchairs and walkers from families who no longer needed them and storing them in the basement of St. Philip Neri Church before lending them out to others who needed them.
